Re: 94 SE Steering rack ID
The prices I quoted are from RockAuto. I think I prefer the AC Delco rack, even for a bit more money.

Re: 94 SE Steering rack ID
F41 it is, then. I will probably go with the Delco unit. It is remanufactured in Mexico, I heard. Any experience with Delco remans from Mexico?

Re: 94 SE Steering rack ID
Cool, and thanks! I will be ordering the F41 rack, as it would seem to be the "sportier" rack. Any preference as far as brand? I can get ATSCO, A1 Cardone, or AC Delco for just about 125.00, 150.00 and 175.00 respectively. I am guessing Delco is worth the extra bucks. Opinions? Experiences?

Re: 94 SE Steering rack ID
I do not have rear air struts. I measure the swaybars as follows: Front is 30mm, which is 1 3/16 inch. Rear is 17mm, which is very close to 11/16 inch. I used a digital brake rotor caliper, so I hope this is close enough. Let me know if this makes any sense, and leads us to FE1, FE2, or F41. The ...

I did a search, but did not find anything, so...

Re: it wasn't the alternator
I have seen water pumps leak when cold, no pressure in cooling system, but NOT leak at operating temp under pressure. Look for signs of coolant leakage on the underside of the water pump. There is usually a weep hole or an area where you will see evidence of leakage. You will most likely need a ...

Re: 4T60-E questions
If you get it figured out, let me know. Had mine rebuilt about 40-50k ago, and it does the same thing. Only when the weather is warmer than 50 or so. I installed a large stacked-plate cooler and a trans temp gauge. It is not getting too hot.

Re: New condenser
You will need to have the r134 refigerant removed properly, with the proper machine. Most AC and radiator places will have it. Once the system is evacuated, you can replace the condensor. Be sure to replace any o-rings you encounter with the proper o-rings. I think they are green in color. Once you ...

Re: camshaft sensor code
Check your connection. Look for pushed-out wires. Check the wiring harness for damage/corrosion. That is where I would start, at least.

Re: flowmaster vs Magnaflow
I did not mount it myself, had my exhaust guy do it. He had to put on a couple more hangers, IIRC. I bought a used Flowmaster for a Camaro, it runs sideways across the rear of the car, has a single inlet and 2 dumps, one on each end. Chrome 45 degree slash cut tips finish it off.

Re: Vacuum Tube - What is it?
You could try using the proper sized vacuum hose, but a bit longer, and looping it to keep it from kinking.

Re: flowmaster vs Magnaflow
I like my 80 series Flowmaster, but have not heard a Magnaflow. My Flowmaster is a bit rumbly at idle, growly when on the gas. Sounds "mean". No resonance in the cabin to speak of. Check out soundclips on YouTube, but remember that sound quality is often quite different in person.

Re: Intermitten ABS light.
I had the same problem. Intermittent ABS light, and ABS activation for no real reason. When I put my 94 SE on the lift to change the struts, I noticed my LF wheel move a bit as it left the ground. Once in the air, I grabbed the tire top and bottom, and gave a good shake. I had almost 2 inches of ...

Re: Radiator go Boom!
I believe there is a little bleeder screw on top of the t-stat housing...there is on my 94 SE. There should be a write-up here somewhere on how to use the bleeder properly.
Also be sure to replace your radiator cap. Even if it is not that old. Get a good quality one---AC Delco or Stant, and be sure ...

Re: replacement strut advice needed......not happy with monr
I am installing a set of 4 KYB GR-2's on my 94 SE tomorrow. Plus Monroe "Strut-Mate" front upper mounts, and MOOG rear uppers, along with 4 new KYB boots. Then an alignment, of course. Should make a drastic difference in my ride, as the 4 Sach's struts I put on have been crap for a while now. They ...

Variable assist valve would be my guess, as my 94 SE has one. I could be wrong...others need to verify.

KYB GR-2 struts?
Wondering if anyone has experience with KYB GR-2 struts? I just bought a pair of fronts for my 94 SE, and they seem to compress too easily by hand for my liking. I expected them to have a bit more resistance on compression. Would hate to install them and find out that they are crap! Anybody running ...

I cleaned this one less than a year ago, and with the proper cleaner. I know it could be dirty again, but it is NOT a factory unit...just one more reason I want to replace it. I have no idea what brand it is, it was installed before I owned the car. Anyone have an original GM MAF, or at least the ...

Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF)
My 94 SE (232k) would not pass CA smog. NOx too high at 25 mph. New Delphi EGR ($123.00), did the Seafoam treatment, no help. Passages are clean. New aftermarket cat ($200.00 installed), still dirty at 25. New ACDelco O2 sensor, still dirty at 25. Today, my smog guy put on a "new" MAF, and she ...

Re: 92 SE has power but won't crank
I think I read everything correctly, but I need some verification. Does the engine crank over at all? Or does the starter engage the flex plate with a solid "thunk" and nothing more? Have you tried turning the engine over by hand, or by using a 1/2" drive ratchet with the (I can't remember the size ...
