I just did this today. It turned out OK. I used a pretty cheap vinyl.
I had the peeling & rusting issue on the driver side trim. Only the part under the mirror was still intact. It would have been a very long process to use filler, so I used a razor knife to cut the rubber/plastic down until it was ...

Re: Gas Gauge Fix -- Fuel Pump Removal -- 2000-2005
I did this fix late last year. It really is a pain to get that part out because it seems a bit fragile. What I found as a solution was to keep working it out.
If you pull it out and can't get the second half out, don't push it back in like you pulled it out the "wrong way." Just keep wiggling it ...

Re: Stability system and abs
Hope you don't have to buy a code reader just for this. Advance Auto pulled up codes with descriptions for my ABS system including tire pressure.
As I understand it, the tire pressure code will engage if it measures a significant enough difference in pressure (not necessarily low pressure) so just ...

Also, if you have Advance Auto where you live, they should have scanners that pick these codes up and give descriptions. When I went to Auto Zone they could only pull the codes, without descriptions.

Re: Abs comes on randomly when turning left or right WTF?
I have a similar problem, I got these codes:
c1221, c1225, c1232
lf seed sensor input at 0, circuit open or shorted.
do i need to replace the wheel hub assy (which i understand contains the sensor) or is there external wiring i can try fixing?

Re: Wheel bearing or ball joint? Now with trunk leak!
Not sure if you fixed your leak yet, but the two I found in my trunk were on the weld seams in the trunk lid "channel" and the gasket lip at the very rear of the trunk.
For the trunk channel, open your trunk and find the weld seams & test them with water to see if there is leakage there. Silicone ...

A few ideas on the trunk leak: I found 2 in my journey: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/forum/2000-2005-other-than-gxp/topic39872.html
1. Check the weld seams along the channel beside trunk lid gasket. You can do this by having the trunk open and running water down the rear window, so it runs ...

Cleaner / Sealant for Plastic Trim & Steering Wheels
What products do you use to clean & preserve your plastic trim? This is a general question but if anyone has had their windshields cloud up from film that appears to be from their trim "evaporating," have you found anything that works to stop that in particular?

Re: Wiring issue - wires cut bottom left of driver seat
Your radiator fans might not be kicking on if that ground you cannot leave connected is used by them.
I hope this isn't your daily driver, because it sounds like you are getting too much or too little power somewhere, which can damage all sorts of things. If you can get a service station to run ...

Re: Wiring issue - wires cut bottom left of driver seat
You can get a continuity tester to check individual wires. I think your best bet will be to inspect the car, look for entry points where other wires may have been accessed. If these people went to the trouble of pulling up the plastic trim to access wires, there is no telling just how far you will ...

Re: speakers
Door cladding is not that hard to pull off though. Make sure you distribute the pressure (i.e. use a wide, flat object) when you are prying it off. I don't think there are any bolt or screw fasteners - they are all clips that make an awful "plastic snapping" noise to make you think you've broken ...

'98 Chevy Lumina
When the '00 Bonneville is restored it will be my summer ride. Winters are mild in VA but the Lumina has killer heat & no a/c.

I really envy you guys with garages. Moving these heavy seats back and forth inside the vehicle is a pain.

Re: GM cars could have been completely bulletproof!!
Of course makers such as Rolls Royce, Ferrari or Bugatti make their products to much higher standards than mainstream cars, and pass the costs on to the fortunate few who can afford to enjoy their luxurious ride or blistering performance. But even these cars aren't built regardless of cost, if the ...

Re: GM cars could have been completely bulletproof!!
I would argue that bloated corporate bureaucracy, marketing and cost-benefit judgements have been far more damaging to GM than things like Dex-Cool and plastic parts.
Sure, there have been problems with Dex-Cool, but from what I've read, CMNT's analysis is right - it is peripheral problems ...

It's been a couple weeks since I attempted it, I'll look at it tonight (or in the coming days) and see what was bothering me about it.
