Has anyone replaced a rear cross member on a 2002?

Post by Rochester SE »

I had to have mine replaced because a mounting flange for the left side control arm was breaking loose. Ever since then my left rear wheel can't be aligned. It is toed in too far and wears my tire unevenly. After awhile it gets cupped pretty bad. The alignment shops (I've been to two) say they can't bring it into spec so I'm wondering if the cross member is adjustable at all.

Also, I've seen alignment shims ( I think at GMParts Direct) that go between the rear wheel bearing assy and the control arm. I've been considering trying one.

Any ideas?
