i will be honest the only ford or dodge would be the cummins or powerstroke. my brothers 02 F250 superduty with the stroker has less problems than my firend and his brother with a 06 and 08 LMM and LMZ dirtymaxs only thing i love about GM diesels is the ally transmission on it.
plus GM dropped the idea of a diesel suburban so ford has me hooked with the stroked excursion
my perfect truck 99-03 F250 superduty 4 door, 8'bed, 6.9 cummins, allison 6spd. trans.
all i can say is my bros 4 door F250 has tons of room and the cummins motor a powerhouse thats why you see lots of them in pulls, the allison trans is great for towing, and the ford body is the most common with 4 doors and 8' bed gm cuts options to 4' or 6' bed when you choose 4 doors

Um, no on the 2500HD and 3500HD the longbox is 8 feet. The only bed on a 01+ 3500 is an 8' bed, no matter the cab. We have an 05 LLY and it's an incredible truck. We've had 0 issues with it.

maybe he was lookin at half-tons they cut the length to short box only in crew cab configuration, but you can get a 2500 with or without d-max with 8-foot bed
2000 ssei gone but not forgotten

2009 G8 v6, 2009 Avalanche LTZ, 2013 Volt

Maybe, I haven't looked at 1/2 tons. That's apples to oranges, as he would be comparing Ford 3/4 tons to GM 1/2 tons. Completely different categories.

it's a 6.0L chipped & whipped. 4" Magnaflow from the turbo to the rear. aftermarket turbo and a bunch of goodies. it was great on fuel until I started adding "things & stuff" now its going up for sale. Cant afford the $150 15 quart oil changes, the 44 Gal fuel tank and so on.
and as far as the perfect truck.... ford body on chev suspension, with a allison of course. cummins 32 valve & compound turbo's or a diesel suburban but 94 was the only year they had that great idea.
