1998 Bonneville - 228k on body with new motor

Post by NMBonneVille »

Hello, I've been on here a for good amount of time and just recently made an account. You all have helped me with a lot of information since I've gotten this car. Have had it since around august of 2023, it came rolling up with a lot fixable issues. The white paint still looks pretty good especially in the nighttime. Anyways just introducing myself and was gonna ask for some help finding a few things. I know that there are sections in the forum that each of these could fit in, I thought I'd save some time and ask right here.

1. I need a flywheel cover and haven't had any luck finding any online. It is the one that sits right next to the oil pan gasket.

2. I have an oil leak dripping down near the flywheel. This is where the flywheel is exposed right now. I just needed reassurance this is the rear main seal leaking, I'm about 80% sure it is. . All other main gasket have been replaced. Valve Covers, Intake Manifold, Oil Pan Gasket.

3. I've never been able to identify where my newer engine was originally from. It helps to have this info especially when buying parts, just wanted to see if anyone could help with identifying that. Got the engine number that sits on the valve covers and that's really it. Guy who put it in couldn't tell me either.

4. I wanted some Bonneville Club stickers. Preferably ones that would fit on the windows. I can email someone and pay for shipping for some.

1. I have one, PM me
2. If its not coming from up top, yup, rear main.
3. Provide a picture and I may be able to help.
4. I used to sell those stickers, I don't have any currently. I could send you the artwork file to have made at your local vinyl cutting shop.

Hello again. I was wondering where the forum went for a while, I was assuming someone stopped paying for it to be up. I was surprised to find it up today. I had a couple of links to discussions about stuff that I needed.

I ended up finding a flywheel cover a while back at the local junkyard. I do need one again though! I tried to PM you but I am not allowed to PM anyone yet I need to participate in more discussions. Anyways I can give you my email for both the stickers and the flywheel cover. Thank you!
