Steering Rack

Post by zombie112 »

Hey all

05 SE, 70k miles.

My steering rack decided to start leaking a little bit, so I figure it's time to replace it. Has anyone here replaced theirs recently with a reman rack and had good success?

Options seem to be BBB, Maval, Cardone, and Detroit Axle. There is one "new" acdelco rack on ebay for almost $400($300 after core), but that also feels a little risky with a 30 day return window.

I'd like to do this once and be good for a while, so any input is appreciated.

Those cheap aftermarket will be much worse off in little time. If your original is just weeping, I'd leave it. I'd only replace it if its leaking bad enough to leave a puddle.
