My first Bonneville
My first Bonneville
I have a 2000 Bonneville Ssei , I’m from Houston Texas these are normal cars around here but they give enough trouble people tend to give up on them . I don’t want to give up mines I love car , I haven’t drove it in like 3 months.. I keep buying new motors and they end up being no good , actually it’s leaving a mechanic this weekend hopefully it’s running good . I currently have no mods , cooler changed or nothing , I am a beginner , I’m looking some one that would like to help me out and give me advice on building my car please and thank you .

For a full list of problems/issues to be found with your car, see this: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 25362.html. If it hasn't been driven in 3 months, you might have to check a bunch of stuff like the tires, steering components, suspension, etc. I think you got unlucky with the "new" motors - they probably came from junkyards.
In terms of modding, there's stuff you can do. The engine is relatively easy to work on. However, a very important thing to do when making more power with the supercharged 3800 motor is to build up/beef up the transmission. The 4T65E-HD, despite being the heavy duty 4 speed transmission, can only take so much. I hear ZZP makes stuff to help build the transmission to be stronger and handle more power.
Unfortunately, I can't give you much more help. I only had a n/a Bonneville, and couldn't mod that due to my budget at the time and the limitations of the engine and transmission. Hopefully someone else chimes in who has more knowledge of modding these cars.
