Hello from South Dakota

Post by sdkid »

Just signed into a couple Pontiac forums. Been looking for my Grandparents 64 Bonneville. Probably crushed by now, :(.

Hope to find one like it some day, within reasonable travel distance.

I have their vin number, is there a way to get body plate info through it?

welcome!

64 Bonneville, nice car!!! especially if you had a 421 tri-power in it. not sure but that might have been reserved for the Catalina.

asking the obvious, but, did you google the VIN? - BC

The 421 was available in a Bonneville. Two versions... One with tri-power and then a SD version with 2-4 bbls.

As to finding it with the VIN#. I think you'll have a hard time as reporting usually doesn't go that far back (usually in to the 80's is as far back as I have looked for some of my older vehicles) and back then, GM's VIN#'s weren't as consistent as they are today in terms of being a certain character length, etc, etc... Not to mention that they changed them year to year for various reasons.
