So i had this problem last year and it went away when it got cold, now its back with warmer weather. Mostly happens when accelerating up a hill or passing someone. Any ideas??? Thanks for any help.

Does it happen at any particular speed? Typically in a higher gear or specific RPM? Sounds like either spark or fuel issue.

2nd gear down shifts maybe, about 40-50 mph. When it happens i loose power, no throttle and will eventually die, i just put it in neutral and turn the key off and it starts back up.

history of maintenance would help - plugs, wires, and the such

is the ses light triggered when this happens and any codes?

Sounds like time to drive it with a fuel pressure gauge attached so you can watch it.

that po442 is a hard code - did you have any pending codes along with it?

Fuel pump was done about a year ago. No other codes pending.

Check for corrosion where the coils plug in. Only takes a few moments, very easy to do. I had one of the three sets of coils have corrosion on its contacts causing the same issue. No idea why the center coil back had contact corrosion. Took only a few minutes to pull the coil, sand off the corrosion, and put back together.

I wouldn't let that stop me from checking fuel pressure under load. Symptoms would have me thinking fuel supply, or restricted exhaust.
