Parasitic Battery Drain?

Post by White64Goat »

Another new problem. Not sure if I have a bad battery or there is something drawing the battery down. Not the first time it has happened, so I'm kind of hoping it's the battery and not something sucking the juice out of it. Some times the battery works fine for weeks on end, then occasionally the car will sit for 2 days and won't even click the starter. Are these cars known for having relays that go bad and suck the battery down? I know that one of the door relays doesn't work right because when I shut the car off and open the door, the radio doesn't shut off and I have to open the back door for it to stop playing. Any ideas if it's not the battery? Thanks

hi, i have come across instances where the trunk or glove box light wont go off (for whatever reason). - diagnose this at night and check stupid stuff like a reading light on and stuff plugged into cig 12v and obd2 plugs.
you can check the battery by doing a continuity test on both + and - posts - if you get a circuit( tone) then the battery is funky and wont hold charges properly.
poverty forces one to do unorthodox things
