Trying to get mufflers on, Midas sucked today.
Just gonna vent a bit. I bought 2 Sebring tuning mufflers, for next to nothing. Took them to Midas to get tjem installed. The guy calls mex wont workx the muffler is 2.5 inch inletx and exhaust pipe is 2 inch. Too big, he says. He didnt offer to just put a reducer on them, I guess he didnt eant my money, after quoting me 100-150 bucks. Not many exhaust shops herex hopefully I find another that will do the work.

That's the kind of stellar service that compels many of us to save the time and aggravation and just do it ourselves.
In the end, do you really want the guy who isn't bright enough to determine that a reducer could be used to do any work on your car?

I agree with MKMike.
Best to find another shop.
Whenever I hear about reducers it reminds me of my wife's 1970 442.(42 years ago-boy I am old)
Before I met here she always took her car to Sears.(yes SEARS-her dad's favorite)
Back then they stocked one size muffler and used 2-3 adapters to make it fit.
The muffler had a lifetime warranty but every year it would rot out by the adapters and they would charge for the pipes.adapters & labor.
The car had dual exhaust so one side would rot out one year and the other side the following year.
I finally took it to my buddy's garage and we installed the proper size mufflers and pipes.
Back then there was no stainless and her short trips about one mile to work did not help.
I love the stainless they use now a days which is a huge improvement.
I should also mention that I sold the car about 2 years after we were married.
She had a lead foot and the 455 was to much car for her.
I am the only guy that I know that got dropped by the insurance company after we got married due to her speeding tickets.
41 years later still hanging in there.
