Whats different on the GXP vs Standard 2005 Bonneville

Post by spncrwhls »

I picked up a 2005 Bonneville GXP at an auction. It was in a collision, they rear-ended someone. I need to change the radiator, A/C condenser, bumper, upper radiator support, Drivers side Headlight asssembly, hood and drivers fender. Maybe the fans and whatever is hiding under the support. Can I get all this from a regular Bonneville? Thank you all so much for your help. I will post before and after pics, and cost of the project. The car has 175k, seems pretty nice otherwise, needs a good interior detail. Has nice wheels, no other visible body damage that I noticed. Thanks again.

The Rad can be used from a Northstar Deville, Lucerne or Aurora and possibly Seville STS
Fans Same as Above
AC Condenser Same as above
Bumper is unique to the GXP and are difficult to find
Upper Rad Support is Common to all Bonnevilles
Drivers Side Headlight is specific to the GXP Trim, but can be replaced with a NON GXP headlight, but it wont match the Pass Side
Hood is Common to all Bonnevilles
Door (as long as the cladding is still on the GXP Door) is common to all Bonnevilles

Just a comment not specific to your question on parts interchangeability, but did the airbags not deploy?

Well...

- Engine
- Transmission
- Radiator and associated cooling system plumbing/hoses.
- PCM
- Harness
- front brakes
- Front sway bar (if I recall)
- I believe the GXP sits a little lower
- wheels
- front bumper
- body cladding (although 2005 SLE's came with the GXP bumpers and cladding)
- Badges
- headlight assemblies
- tail light assembly
- exhaust tips
- seat covers, dash trim, gauges, stereo face/buttons, decorative door sill covers

The airbags did not deploy. The impact went right over the bumper support, and didn't quite make it to the engine. It appears to be a very low speed impact.
