I have the typical "radio not turning off when door is opened" issue starting to become a regular thing. It started intermittent and has quickly gotten worse. I'm about at a 50/50 chance right now that it shuts off when I open the door. I'm looking to fix it up myself if at all possible.
The troubleshooting I've done is the following:
Both front doors have the problem - ie. ignition is off, open either front door, radio stays on
Open either back door and the radio always turns off
Car always knows when doors are opened - ie. DIC tells me when either front door is open properly (when car is running).
My question is - does the car have different sensors for knowing when the doors are ajar for the DIC and when they are opened for the RAP/Radio turn off? Why does it know the doors are open, but the radio stays on?
Does this sound like a module problem? Which module would it be, and how do I replace it?
Ignition Off, Radio ON (Module or senors?)

These posts may help you

This one has some more info on how the RAP works

I'll also add that maybe the RAP relay is sticking.

If you remove the RAP relay, will this have any other effect on the car other than certain accessories running until a door opens or the timer shuts it off? Will it screw with the computer or throw codes?
