Traction control question
Should i leave the traction control on all the time or just in slick conditions? Does it cause any unnecessary wear to leave it on?

Re: Traction control question
It won't hurt anything to leave it on. It usually will only intervene when needed (when wheel slip is detected), so unless you're drag racing the car all the time, it really shouldn't make too much of a difference.

Re: Traction control question
I've turned it off occasionally and never noticed a difference. I baby this car anyway necause it is such a cherry and was meticulously cared for by the p.o. thanks for the info
Re: Traction control question
I usually turn traction control off under dry conditions for no other reason than I'm old and don't like being "big brothered". Wife always leaves it on because she finds the trac control off light on the dash distracting, six of one, 1/2 dozen of the other.

Respectfully, that's kind of the same logic as someone I know who said "It's not that seatbelts are a bad idea, it's just that I don't like being told I have to wear it so that's why I won't."garagerog wrote:I usually turn traction control off under dry conditions for no other reason than I'm old and don't like being "big brothered". Oh, I agree on the seatbelts, always wear mine, in fact if a 5 point harness and a full roll cage were an option on a street car I'd be the first to sign up, the reason that us old farts are around at all is we might know a little about throttle control.
