Are you interested in the supercharger? Are you committed and willing to run premium fuel? Have you driven either car? Have you even been to look at either?

As mentioned, If you're willing to pay for Premium and willing to go under the hood and change gaskets that will likely be in need of changing a few thousand miles ago, the SSEi would be a nice deal. You would also probably want to have it flushed or DIY. Thats actually the price I talked mine down to two weeks ago for the '01.

Definitely have a look at both, drive both. You already know how your SE drove.

The SSEi sounds like a good deal. I paid $5,600 for my 98 SE at around 84k miles, but it does have a mint interior and has power seats, leather, electric climate control, TC, engine block heater, magnasteer, 3.05 gears, and pretty much all the options except a sunroof. I couldn't talk the lady down at all, she was pretty set on selling it for that much and nothing less. Before I found her on autotrader I was looking at a Monte Carlo SS Supercharged and a Supercharged Riviera for like $9,000 at some dealerships but both of those interiors were a wreck and both over 100k miles. Obviously they were previously owned by young idiots.

If that Ei is in good shape and isn't previously owned by a younger male I'd pounce on it. I'm actually kinda jealous I couldn't find one for that price like that when I was looking

Check out the value of each car (Retail sale & private party sale) on www.kbb.com and/or www.nada.com

That will give you a better idea what these cars are worth, specific to your area of the country. You will need know all their options to make sure you have a fairly accurate comparason.

Well I meant the LIM gaskets. And You could have it done somewhere too, I didn't mean that you had to do it yourself, but that would be less expensive. Also the gasket change was tip for both cars.

The main thing would be the premium gas commitment for the SSEi, the rest is maintenance that probably both cars would require. The SSEi looks like it could be a screamin' deal. You might even be able to talk them down a couple hundred from there.

Just be sure to check them out carefully.

Dude, the SSEi by a long mean. I'm a hardcore L36 fan but even I wouldn't pick a SE over a SSEi (well I did but that's a different story)

Go with the SSEi

Noticed 2 things on that SSEi:
1. The coolant is either low or it has been changed
2. There is something wrong with the color of the supercharger nose drive. Can't really tell in the picture.

As said before, look them over and take them for a drive.

Other than the color of the SSEi, I'd snatch it up.

The nosedrive just has some dirt on it that was wiped off in some areas.

Hmmm...you talk about "all the luxury that's in a Bonneville" and you drive a Cadillac STS? There is no comparison, in terms of luxury, to the Cadillac and Bonneville. The Cadillac is considerably more luxurious and feature laden, as well has having a Northstar engine that is more powerful than an SSEi (although maybe not quicker).

I love Bonnevilles, but if your STS is in good shape - why would you trade it in for a Bonneville?? It certainly doesn't make sense if luxury or status is your motivator.
