Availability of vacuum hoses??

Post by kennyz »

Does anyone sell a kit consisting of the vacuum lines, caps, rubber plugs, etc. for these cars? As these cars are getting to that age where things are starting to dry out and crack I would think it would be a pretty popular item. I know I need some of these pieces and would rather use pieces that fit exact as opposed to just cutting up pieces of vacuum hose and making it fit.

I bought this kit (in red, though) its sorta expensive, but so far I have no complaints about them. They seem to be high quality. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Silicone-Vacuum ... kw&vxp=mtr

At one point you could buy the "vacuum harness" from the dealer, but I'm not sure if they're still available from GM. You'd have to check with your dealer.

When I had to replace all the vacuum lines on my '92 SSE, I went o O'Reilly any bought what they had off the shelf. It worked great. I know you would like pieces already cut to fit, but it wasn't a big deal for me to cut the pieces to fit. I used the old pieces as a guide. I cut the "bulk" pieces a little longer than what came on the car new. I thought it was easy. - BC

most of the OEM Vac harnesses (hard lines and rubber elbows) were still available as of a year or 2 ago.. call the dealer, it was like $30 for the ones around the SC on my car.
