Depends on the quality of the job, but you should be prepared to spend in thousands of dollars range if you want it to be decent.

If you're thinking about a GM Diamond Tri-Coat paint ot the white pearl, that's some serious money just for the paint. - BC

I've looked into getting my car repainted as thoroughly as possible. Just as they said before, its going to be at least $2,000, and that's probably just a basic job. If you want a pearl white with the GM diamond tri-coat like he said, thousands and then some. Plus having to find the exact color. Are you repainting because your clear coat failed and its oxidized or you just want another color?

hi, you could do it yourself if you rent a shop for 50+/hour lets say 5 hours for beginners -250
white is cheapest colour( I would guess 200 for paint and 100 for clear in paint-- you can practice with a spray can then you'll be good and it will be decent. The same technique basically but now you use professional equipment.
500-700 probably total for diy

For a paint job that will look at least half way ok you should expect at least $4,000 - $5,000.

Take it to a body shop near you and get an estimate. All you can get here is a W.A.G. as there are far too many variables to consider. It costs considerably more to change the color of your car than to repaint the same color, for instance. Pearls, candies, and other special paints will add cost in material and require different techniques to apply them properly (think more labor cost). How much body work is required before actually spraying the color? $ca-ching$ If you're thinking less than $1000 to paint your car, that's not reality. I sprayed arctic white on the fiberglass tonneau cover for my pickup and I was into that job $300 in material alone. And I did it in my backyard with my own spray gun. And I'm a hack.

If you're just looking for a W.A.G., I think a decent paint job will start at about $3000 and go up from there.

It all depends on where you live and what shops you have around you. my home town has only 900 some people in it and the car detailer we have charges based on car type and what all you want done i.e. custom job or just a repaint/whole new color. He averages out at round 1200 bucks. The bigger cities an hour to two away on the other hand normally start out at at least 2000 bucks for just a plain repaint. So I totally agree on taking it in to a few different shops and getting a price range.
