"The Murdersofa" - 2000 LeSabre Limited

Here it is when I originally got it. Quiet, 11.3 seconds to 60, and looked like every other car out there.
Painted champagne gold, aka "You won't ever decide if this is silver or bronze"
Image
One of my first mods. Red switched footwell LEDs. Girls love this one for some reason.
Also, note how all of my dash backlights work. Sadly not the case anymore, which pisses me off. Even more annoying is that the bulbs aren't replaceable by any means I can find.
Image
Hanging with some friends. From left to right: 2nd-gen MR2 Turbo, Honda S2000, Porsche Boxster S, Buick LeSabre 2000, Chrysler Concorde, Jetta Sportwagen TDI
Image
There's an informal car show/meet in a local parking lot. We like to get there early and park right in the middle of the silly-expensive classics, then retreat to a safe distance and watch the reactions. Mostly utter confusion.
Image
Taken from my first autocross, this picture is the very definition of "body roll"
Image
From my most recent autocross. Light taken out for cooler air, hood raised up to allow room for strut tower brace, rear shocks replaced with higher-pressure units and aired up to max for better stiffness (turned out to be a bad idea) and new wheels/rubber.

And some videos:

It's nice to see someone else modding a LeSabre on here ;) Any engine mods yet, other than the cosmetics I can see?

Nothing to the engine other than the tune, if that counts. I'd like to get a ZZP N/A performance cam for it, but dropping $350 is a bit out of reach at the moment, and it would only be marginally more expensive to buy a 130,000-mile L67 from a friend.

Don't waste time or money modding the motor NA. Do a topswap. You basically swap everything from the heads up to an L67, or supercharged motor's components. Same price, or cheaper than a cam, and opens a lot of potential.

It's certainly interesting. I'm always dead-last (only person with a FWD automatic, and the consistently the worst power-to-weight ratio), but *dang* I have the most fun there.

I met a good friend of mine as he was autocrossing a 2000ish 2 door GP... That thing, struggled mightily, I can't image trying to hussle a LeSabre through a decent course, those tires look to be SCREAMING in that head on photo. Definitely keep shocks in the rear in a good balance with the front.

I've autocrossed a few cars in my day now, from an N/A Mini to a stripped out, supercharged Miata. My brother has a 2000 LeSabre, you're crazy! Keep it up!

I would say, hold out for the L67 Swap...
