You could always find a set of 16 inch rims (tires are cheaper). Otherwise check tire-rack.com

Never know what kind of deals you might run across on craigslist as well.

Check craigslist and I would stay with stock spec. Around here, tires in that size can be found all over.

See. While i can find 17 in tires no problem. Its cost vs tread left. Tire rack isnt too bad on price as well as Treadcrawler.com. but i dont have that much to spend. Im looking to stay in the lower 300 range.

Also check tire stores, specifically Discount Tire. They sell used tires all the time for pretty good prices. Most of the time the tires still have plenty of life left in them.

:stupid:

I know Tires Plus's often have set prices on used tires (IE: $50 apiece for 17" tires), no matter the brand, etc. Might be worth checking local tire stores. You may only need 2 tires, too...

Yeah i was gonna say just get 2 tires if the rest of yours are in good shape. Put them together either both front or both back amd you should be fine.

Check your local salvage yards, too. We're kind of out of your way, but we sell 17" tires for $30 a piece.

I know if they are compatible that 16 inch Copper Star fires work GREAT on these cars. That's all my family has used on our Pontiac's and they do good in all weather and seasons. Just a thought for future reference.

Your tire has a crack in the sidewall, but is it no longer roadworthy?.
If the fabric structure is exposed then yes, you do, but top grade tires may well have plenty of life in them despite cracking in the sidewall. If they are more than 5 years old then they should be replaced as well, often they crack as the rubber ages.
However if you have kept them correctly inflated and haven't beat on them too often I wouldn't get paranoid about it.

Got any pics btw?.

Roger.

255/50-17 is what I had on my 2000 SSEI, ran that size for over 200k miles. It is also the size that GM "should" have put on the SSEI.
