Rear air suspension issue

Post by smittyingr »

So first I will apologize for a thread that I'm sure has taken place but I'm not finding it. Im hoping someone has a good troubleshoot process for the rear air ride on a 2001 ssei. I just got a new one with a blown trans. Replaced the trans and all the front end now its time for the rear. I am currently turning wrenches to replace the air shocks with Monroe replacements. The air does not turn on right now. The shocks were rusted with holes so I assume it ran and ran and the compressor burned out but I'm not sure. Can someone explain how I should go about diagnosing if its the pump or the level sensor. I have checked all fuses and breakers and all are good. Thanks for the help guys. Im just hoping to not throw a pump at it if I don't have to. The car deserved a lot of replacing of parts to get it perfect but I'm drained. Thanks a lot.

Basically you'll want to disconnect the sensor arm from the control arm (end pops off, ball and socket joint), it will spring all the way up, as if the suspension was fully compressed and if there is voltage going to the pump, the pump is bad.

If you need a pump, get one from haro. I got one from him for like $40 when I needed one.

Finally got around to this. I have voltage at the pump at the red and black wires at all times with the sensor in the up or down position. My question is the green and white wires I'm not finding voltage there. What should I be checking with those two? Is there a way to bench test the pump I have it off the car. What wires do I send power to. Im assuming the green and white are some kind of triggers. Thanks for the help.
