I found this site two weeks ago after a google search for error codes on my 96 Olds 88 LS. Problem solved after reading some of the discussions, so I love this site.
My wife inherited a 1992 Olds 88 Royale from a meticulous relative with a GM Service Manager son. It now has 240k on it and still runs well.
When I bought the 96 88 in 2006 for $5000 as a used low mileage old car, I didn't know how long I would keep it, nor how much I would like it. I've put 155k on it with no major issues. The body and interior are still solid and nice. Transmission and engine are smooth. The only problem at this age is leaks everywhere; all fluids. Total lifetime cost including purchase, fuel, maintenance, and insurance has been only 22 cents/mile.
I'm learning a lot reading through the threads. Thanks to the those who keep it going and contribute.
