Universal Catalytic Converter Install
I just received my new catalytic converter from Magnaflow and it is a universal. From taking a quick look at the one on the car, there seems to be very little pipe between the mounting bracket attached to the downpipe and the converter body. Is there enough to cut the pipe and clamp on the new converter? I don't have access to welding equipment or else I would weld the bracket onto the converter. Has anyone had troubles with installing universals? How have you guys gone about this?

If you didn't get a converter with the flange on it, you will definitely need to have it welded.

It's never recommended to put a clamp on the cat because of how hot that area gets.

Re: Universal Catalytic Converter Install
Where is the best deal on one with the flanges that will bolt right up?

Re: Universal Catalytic Converter Install
I didn't have money for the direct fit. But I found a guy locally that will do it the right way and weld it on for me (for cheap). Thanks everyone for the input!
