Yeah that's the sad thing about driving a car with a power train from 1996 technology has surpassed it, most modern v6's have more power. Don't get me wrong though, a pulley and a few bolt ons would do a lot towards bringing it back up to par

Later Camry is pretty quick with the 3.5. Not a fan of Toyota whatsoever, but boy can that 3.5 MOVE. Toyota got the HP and TQ curves right on that engine, along with a nice axle ratio.

Another one that can move is the 3.7 V6 Mustang. I've been in a tuned one with ghost cams and headers. Wow.

You won't keep up with one in a GXP. It's what we get for liking GM. It's like when I got dusted by a some 4 door econobox Hyundai the other day.

Getting completely off topic...I wonder what happened to that 4.2l stroker kit that they were making for the 3.8 in Australia

GM left it up to us to take the potential out of the 3800. It's a shame they didn't do it themselves, otherwise the 3800 and hell even Pontiac might have still been around. We may never know.

Not sure if you're serious or if you're trying to get me rolling...

Ok, that's why I didn't take the bait.

And this is why 90% of the time I act uninterested. It's better to let them think they can beat me than them actually proving it. My pride stays intact that way.

I'm that way with the Bonneville (might change once I get rid of that knock).
But, as, with Ed, I've crushed the pride of many in the G8.

No, but they are DOHC with variable valve timing. 268hp in the current model I believe.
Zero charisma though, which is what counts for me.

As budget, guts and family dictate: performance improvements only when replacing a bad OEM part. Though the bolt ons are very tempting.
Those GXP's are fast too?

Not really, against these Camry's either.
To save me some typing. Written by yours truly;
that I had a wake-up call one day when I had a full out war with a new Toyota Camry (the guy lived in my sub-division and made it known that he wanted a piece of the GXP). Anyway, one day we went at it and I had a hard time beating him! I could hardly pull away from him. For 20 minutes He and I went at it through many roads where acceleration was involved, some where handling and braking was needed, and in all, it was an overall chassis/vehicle workout. I barely beat the guy! It wasn’t until a flat out stretch, where we were into triple digits, where I literally started to inch away with the superiority of the multi-cammed 8 cylinder finally showing it’s supremacy. I was flat out embarrassed! I was mad! I know we’re not supposed to post stuff like this, but in retrospect, it really set me off (it’s working me up writing about it because I don’t like to be beat, especially by a *dang* Toyota that isn’t a Supra), and was really a driving force in me accelerating my timeline for the STS-V.
