Mommy with a small question...

Post by pearl_bonnie02 »

Looked at an 03 ssei yesterday and I really am considering it. Any of you with kids, can I fit 2 front facing car seats and and infant carrier seat in the middle of that back seat???

It might be a bit tight with the middle seat.

My uncle's 01 SE fits two front facing seats.

I was afraid it would be tight. The guy wouldn't let me test fit. I can't buy it if my kids won't fit lol

My girlfriend goes to school at Valpo. I visit all the time. If you do get the car, I don't mind helping you out with small stuff!

Hey, if Carl is only 30 mins away, maybe he will be nice enough to meet up with you to test fit?

I don't think that will be a problem. There are 3 seat/shoulder belts in the back and 3 LATCH systems, as well as 3 upper restraint clip points on the rear shelf. I say go for it. But he should at least let you put the seats in to see if they fit. I think they will but what the heck is the problem with doing that?

It's a little bit over an hour away. But next time I'm up that way, I could stop by. Depending on whether you purchase the car by then.

What a terrible seller!! It will work but it will be dependent on how far back you need the front seats to go. I did it a couple of times in my 03 SE and our SLE's, but I am short and only needed the seat half way back.

Sounds like an awful tight fit to me... I could see 2 boosters along with the center rear facing, but 3 full-sized car seats? Good luck!

:sucks: Leslie...talk to Marcia on Facebook. She's the car seat queen.

You may have to buy new front facing seats to fit the infant carreir, pretty much no matter what you buy. Unless you go 3rd row. I could see you in a caravan

Some car seats are narrower so that will help.

To answer your question... NO.

Here is a pic of two forward facing seats in the back of my STS-V. The Bonneville is nip and tuck larger in most back seat dimensions. The Bonneville despite it's size/class, isn't as large as it should be in the back seat area. OR as large as one would expect. The only car that I have seen be able to fit two forward facing and then a snap-in, rear facing bucket infant seat, was my Wife's old '99 Dodge Intrepid (and that was very tight), due to it's wide beltline of the car, and Dodge really scalloping the door panels.

What about putting them in the trunk? Just open the pass through for some heat circulation

I spent to much on these car seats to not use them. They go up to 100lbs and convert to boosters. Karleigh is only 4 and needs to be in a 5 point harness and Kyle is 2.5 so again, no booster. I guess I'll have to stick to my expedition for a few more years.

These car seats are quite big. I'd have to do a test fit before I bought a bonne

Yea, size of the seats matter too.

THe newer ones I have now (my two kids are a bit bigger, meaning heavier now), so I had to replace those in the picture above. So they're taller, but slimmer seats. So it might be more feasible now if I had to try. It isn't the base of those Graco's infant carriers that take up the space, it's the actual critter carrier that snaps into the base that takes up the real estate.
