DIC question
Hello can the DIC be used to read a service engine soon light? My 2005 Pontiac GXP developed a skip/missfire this morning and hasnt went away. Weather conditions were heavy rain and dampness. I have a spare bank of coils I may put in and plugs have been replaced about 5K ago. Car has 77,000 on it. I know on the caddy's codes can be pulled using the cars computer. Dont know if the DIC has that capability.

Re: DIC question
Not on the Bonneville GXP, unfortunately. Any number of OBD2 code readers (including the Bluetooth adapters that connect via smartphone app) will do the trick.

Re: DIC question
I use this adaptor with the Torque app in my GXP...it can read and clear codes, as well as monitor most PIDS.

Re: DIC question
No, no "Engineering Mode" that can be accessed as mentioned. Another option is if you have an active OnStar setup, they should be able to run a diagnostic and tell you what codes are being generated. But I'll tell you now, if you're having a misfire, the code is gonna be P0300 and then the associated cylinders, like P0303 if it was cylinder #3.
