1998 SE HVAC Knob replacement

Post by Zazou »

After going through the local salvage yards for the past 4 months, the HVAC knobs have remained elusive. My car was missing 2 out of 3, and switching the 1 was getting old. Today I got smart and pulled a controller out of a wrecked Bonnie and started pulling knobs off other GM's until I got a working fit. After Grand Ams, Grand Prixs Cavilers, Luminas, Achivias, even a S10 Blazer, I found the knobs off a 1996 Impala SS worked perfectly (Caprice as well)! So now my 1998 SE is painted 1996 Impala DGGM and has the HVAC knobs off a 1996 Impala SS.
