I had the transmission fluid changed

Post by bobjones003 »

So I had the transmission fluid by mechanic, because my car is under warranty from the used car shop. Wanted to get some to change that know what to look for just in case. The car did not have anything wrong this transmission, which I figured it shifted and sounded fine. The reason I did the first place is the pan seal was leaking. Who knows the last time it was changed. The thing I was not figure on is that car actually runs quieter and smoother. Especially at highway speeds or slightly north of highway speeds. I have never experienced that in any car I have driven after the transmission fluid was changed. At this point I think car drives like new it most ways and is the one quietest cars I have even driven on highway. Although next on the hit list is getting the struts replaced as they are the original and my car has 140k on it. I am sure they are getting little tired at this point. So if you comments about my getting smoother are welcomed. That was most unexpected most of the car that I had changed ride stayed about the same

What fluid did they use? Dex III or Dex VI? I just replaced mine for the same reason (pan gasket)

Sorry Dex III. They always try to use oem recommend parts and fluid. It also increase my fuel milage. I am not sure by how much cause last week it was lot of highway driving on the car. It got 29.3 mpg for the tank. Which would be record for me.
