carbide burrs

Post by deano55 »

What extended burrs are guys using to port heads? I saw somewhere you only need one certain burr besides the polishing drums which I ordered.

I used a 1/8" shank Dremel twist bit, and grinding stones, then hand-sanded and polished. But it took a while because I only had the Dremel.

Matt, I ended up buying the extended shank set of four from eastwood. Free shipping-53.99 total, good price I think. All in all I have around 100 dollars in material to port them including the sanding drums/cones.

Check out this thread:
http://www.lesabret.com/phpBB/viewtopic ... 3&start=30
the 2nd post shows the options for the burrs, and then about 3/4 through the massive post is where I used the #115 on the heads and LIM.
Having the snake attachment for the Dremel mades things easier to control and less vibration on the hands.
