I/m Scraping this car tommarow and want to get it off

its bolted at front i can tell but how far back is the next bolt ?

Or di i need to cut it off ?

If i have to cut . will a hack saw do it ? or should i go buy a harbor fright reciprocating saw ?

It's welded in, gotta cut. If you can get room hacksaw will work fine, may go through a couple blades since it stainless steel.

Oh and also, it's CATALYTIC converter.

If you unbolt it and unplug the rear O2 sensor, There is only 4 rubber hangers left and you can drop the whole exhaust and grag it out from under the car. Then you can cut it where you want with whatever you want.

Why are you wanting the converter off?

because of the platinum in it its worth $115 at a scrapyard Because its OE . If it was a aftermarket its worth $5 in scrap

Well def show the $115 receipt you got, please. And there's more metals than just Platinum. Never ever heard of more than $50 for a big Cat convertor for scrap. Prove me wrong, Haro!!!!

I'll see if I can find my receipt, I got $110 for my SLE converter.

prices are kinda down right now, but I have gotten $150 for a GM #1 (the size on the Bonneville) this spring.

*dang*. I got 50 for mine 4 years ago.

I scraped the 2000 Bonneville . turns out the cat was a aftermarket cat . glad i did not waste much time on tryings to cut it off. i got a extra $6 bucks for it and was still on car plus my $242 for scrap auto body .

amd yes scrap is DOWN now . About $210 a ton for auto bodys . $240 a ton for Auto Cast .

2-3 years ago it was at a peak of $420 a ton
