Best Hand Soap EVER!
{edit}
DISREGARD THIS POST.... I have been HAD!!!
======
If you are still using industrial skin-stripper to wash up, you might want to try something unexpected:
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild....
http://www.sears.ca/product/clinique-li ... 4-6F37-011
Fairly expensive at $20 for 200 ml, but a very tiny half-squirt (and water) does an amazing job cleaning the grease and dirt off your hands. 200ml will last months for the casual backyard mechanic. More effective than even the industrial stuff.
I suppose the formulation is designed to remove makeup, but it works like a charm for grease..... and your hands do not feel like they just came out of a varsol soaking.

Re: Best Hand Soap EVER!
Washing up liquid and a teaspoon of sugar or detergent powder work fine too.
Knock up some pastry or bread dough, that will also get your hands as clean as a surgeons, don't eat the pastry or dough afterwards!.
Roger.

If I have extremely greasy hands, I'll just spray some Castrol Super Clean on them, scrub up and rinse... then use regular soap.

My Apologies to Everybody.
I was HAD.... I had been given the Clinique bottle and it turns out that the product in the Clinique bottle was NOT CLinique..
In actual fact, it was GAIN liquid laundry detergent.
It is, nevertheless, amazing at grease cleanup, and I definitely prefer it over the industrial concoctions.

Lol, sucks dude.
Dish detergent works well, I generally mix it with a little citrus/pumice hand cleaner for the best mechanical and chemical action.

Dawn dish soap is an excellent lysing agent for grease...work it in for few mins then use the lava bar.
