2002 SE stumble

Post by mandkfink »

Hey guys, new to the forum and the car. Baught it about 4 months ago. Has 137,000 Miles. We love it! BUT...

In the last few days its started stumbling a bit. Does not do it when it first starts, only when put in to gear and once above 1000RPM its fine. It also does it when at WOT from 60mph and up. Those are the only time.

So i hooked up a Fuel pressure gauge, and in "prime" its at 46psi. When car is running its the same, 46psi. If i pull the vac line of regulator it jumps up to 54PSI. I dont know much about fuel systems but is that normal. My fuel pump is pushing the correct amount of pressure but is the regulator causing it to not get proper fuel amounts?

Also not codes are set.

After i got it i replace the plugs/wires, thermostat, routine mataniance and thats it.

Any help would be great!

The fuel pressure should jump up when that vacuum line is removed so that is good.

Can you explain the stumble a little more? When exactly does it happen, where is the throttle at when it happens, engine up to temp?
