Terrible Milage?

Post by Ronnyboy »

Today I filled up my car just one tick under the 1/2 mark. After just 33 miles, its a tick away from 1/4! I only went WOT twice, and ran the AC for 4 minutes on our country road trip that was all around 45-55, then back to 25. Does this sound right? I know I have a dirty MAF sensor I have to clean, but that wouldn't cause me to lose 1/4 a tank in 30 miles would it?!

Likely your fuel gauge sender is bad, causing a false reading...

I figured it'd be that, but would that apply even when I'm idiling, on the level? I did that for about a minute, even restarted the car, and it still didn't move. I'll keep calculating and watching it to see what's up.

The left side of the gauge moves a lot faster than the right side. I can normally get 250 miles on the full side of the tank, and only 150 on the empty side.
