I have the interior panel off, and have disconnected the window from the slide, but I can't get the window out to find where the upper cable (engine side) attaches to the slider.

The slider is still attached to the lower cable (trunk side) but I have no idea where the upper cable goes. It is buried up in the top of the door, and at this point is either jammed or covered up by the window.

If you know how to get the window out, that would be a help. If you know how this window system works and could provide some guidance on fixing it, that would be even better.

Alrighty, I pulled out the slider assembly (upper cable pulled out of it's slot) and I'm putting it back together.

Any ideas on how the cable is wound around that lower pulley?

The cable wrap in opposite directions, so that as one cable is pulled in, the other is let out. Perhaps, this will help. http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... f=43&t=212

Not sure how I missed that when I searched for getting the door panel off...

Thanks for the link, I did figure out most of that myself yesterday.

Seems that my cable and gear are pretty beat up, and when I managed the 'fix' of putting the top cable end into the slot where the spring for the lower cable goes (it worked), the cables were getting boogered up inside the gear mechanism.

I was able to get the window to stay in the 'up' position, so the car is now drivable, but I'm pretty sure I'll need a new regulator in order to fix the cable issue.

Check with harofreak I just bought one for mine with the same issue from him. He has good prices.
