Re: Gas gauge
The sender is inaccurate, or there's a wiring problem somewhere. For the sender, you can get 2 cans of Chevron Techron Concentrate and add that to a full tank of gas. Then let the car sit for a weekend, and drive it to work and back. If the sender is fouled, that will clean up the sender. Otherwise, you'll have to replace the sender assembly. That's a PITA since the tank needs to be dropped.

*dang* alright ill try that cause its hard to tell how much gas i have, that would be the sending unit that has to be replaced right?

Re: Gas gauge
Yup, sending unit. I used the cheap one from Rockauto, it was like $75 (versus >$300 for the factory part) and replaced it myself in about 3 hours. Two guys makes it a whole lot easier. A lift makes it easier still, but who has a lift?99bonnySe wrote:*dang* alright ill try that cause its hard to tell how much gas i have, that would be the sending unit that has to be replaced right?
If you decide to do it, buy the tank gasket with three prongs sticking downward from the dealer, maybe$10. I never could get the plain o-ring provided with the sending unit to seal.
