Air Intakes

I have just acquired a 99 Bonneville se, and I am trying to find a air intake system. what do you guys suggest?

Some run the Intense FWI(fender will intake) and as of recent some have pieced together aluminum piping with rubber couplers for a FWI.

Do a lil searching with the search function. you will find what you need.

You will want a 3" diameter with what ever you choose.

Intense FWI is the most recommended here, but others have used aluminum tubing to make it also.

The key is to get the intake air sourced from outside the engine bay, hence the Fender Well Intake.

3" would be for the L27's (92-94) that have the smaller throttle body, 3 1/2" is ok for your 99 N/A car.

You can piece your own kit together with some ingenuity. The PCM tray can be had from a late 90's up to 02 S-10 I believe. Then buy the Intense throttle body coupler and a 3' section of their 3 1/2" tubing. A K&N filter is recommended for our application (96-99) because it's an oiled cotton gauze filter that helps repel water (our body style makes the filter more exposed). Which it needs to do because it will get wet, but won't hydro lock the motor. That is unless you drive into a 1'-6" deep puddle.

Thank for your help guys! I can wait to finally drive Bonny for the first time tomorrow night when i get back from college. I have one more quick question though; do any of you guys know how much power a FWI adds to my N/A L36?

No intake in the world will add more than 5hp to a bone-stock car. Consider it a supporting mod for other mods. You'll feel it, but it's not as high as some kit or filter manufacturers claim. The myth of massive gains from an intake have been around for years, but made far worse in recent years due to the proliferation of young drivers without brains (import tuners/ricers).

Please note that even INTENSE makes no HP gain claim for the FWI.
