Ola fellow GTO owner!

Blower Motor Resistor.

It's basically a printed circuit board with impregnated resistors on it. There is a resistor with a certain resistance amount for each blower speed setting. Those resistors sometimes go "POP".

It's a pretty easy fix if you're willing to buy the part and be a contortionist to get the underside of your passenger footwell apart. The resistor is mounted on the blower motor housing itself.

Yea thats what I thought too.Whats odd is that I started to take it out had five of the screws out let it sit overnight and the next day I just put the key to check if it would work and it did so back together it went and no problems since.I did check on the price of the resistor and got three price $140 $190 $199.Thanks for the reply. The GTO is one of the best built cars I have ever driven,SO SO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE TOO.
