Turn signal problem

I replaced the signal and brake light bulbs in the rear, and now none of the signals work. The front signals are on all the time as DRLs, but they won't blink as signals and the rear signals don't blink at all. It looks like a wire running to the left signal got flattened a little by one of the posts on the back of the light housing when I screwed it back in. Could it just be a blown fuse? Or could the crushed wire have shorted out?

Did you change the wiring for the DRL to where it uses the filament for the turn signals in that bulb? If so, that could be your problem. Try removing that mod and see if they work properly, then.

I'm not sure what you mean, but by DRL I mean the front signals are always on, and them blink for turns. But now, the front signals are lit up, but don't blink. The rear signals are always off and don't blink, not even with the hazard button pushed. There also are no green signal indicators in the gauges, no clicking to indicate turns signals either.

I've read another post with a similar problem, with getting the wire pinched while putting the rear assembly back on. But there aren't any exposed wires so I wanted to see if it could just be a fuse or something. Before i try to fix the wire.

I'm just unsure if one shorted wire going to one blinker would cause all these different things to stop working; all blinkers, the green blinker arrows and the clicking that accompanies them. But I, admitedly, don't really know what I'm talking about so...

Check your fuse box's. The diagram in the lid will show you where the signal fuse is located. It would be real easy to varify visually once you remove the fuse and look through it If the strand is burned through in the middle then you know that is your problem. If you replace it and it blows again then check the wire. Even though it might not be cut into when you pinched itbetween the housing the strands on the inside could be broken.

Pulled the back seat, and the signal fuse was blown. Not sure if the flattened wire caused it or what. Replaced the fuse and I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it blows again.

I know this is a late reply, but I just recently had a similar issue with my turn signals. Kept changing the fuse, seemed to work, and then all of a sudden, they stopped working again. Never actually pinpointed the issue, but I'm about 95% sure that one of the wires got wet and caused a short... I would just check the fuse, the bulbs, and if it happens again, let it dry out.

I had the same situation on my Trans Am 01. In this case the problem was a bad wire connection to the front DRL/turn signal light, which gave the exactly same result: turn signal didn't blink, but stayed steadlily on. After fixing the bad connection, I had the same situation when I didn't connect one of the two rear break/turnsignal bulbs (there are two on each side in a Trans Am). So you can get this problem if any of the wiring or bulbs related to any turn signal has a problem. Since you got the problem after chaing the rear bulb, I would check for the problem rear. Wrong type of bulb? Bad connection there? Don't forget to check for bad earth.

Not sure if I should have started a new thread as this is the exact issue I'm having with my 05 GXP. I put LEDs in the brake lights (turns and reverse already had leds). I tested them and all were working fine. Put everything back together and washed the car...then nothing. Fuse was blown so I changed it out and it still blows it right away. Of course it is raining now so if it a wet wire it would be hard to check. I'll have to keep monitoring it looks like.

My problem turned out to just be a flattened wire, it may have cause a short but I haven't had any problems since. Check to see if a wire got pinched between the body of the car and the flat washer-type piece of metal that's on one of the screws that hold the taillight in place. When I tightened mine down the wire got pinched between them.
