amp & sub install in 92 se

This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

I hate paying for things I know I can do my self. I will attempt to install a new xplod system in a 92 se.
I'm 90% sure I can do this myself. If anyone has directional instructions please share. Currently I have a 50w KDC Kenwood unit with 6.5 Kenwood 3-ways in the front and 6x9 Kenwood 3-ways in the rear. The tweeters are factory and are not installed in the front but soon will be. From what I understand the red & white audio wires will run from the head unit to the amp for the sub, left and right speakers. Then speaker wires run from the amp back to the head unit area to reconnect to the front speaker wires. The rear speaker wires run from the amp to the speakers in the rear. Also a remote wire is run from the amp the head unit. Then a +12v wire runs to a 40a fuse then to the car battery. Also a ground wire is run from the amp to the metal ground. What is the level control ? Can anyone help ?

You probably don't need the bass processor, since you have an aftermarket head unit. Stock units generally cut bass at higher volume, and don't provide sub-only channels. The ReQ-5 would split out a pair of sub channels that your Kenwood amp most likely does, and it creates a remote-on when it senses signal from the speaker input wires. But your headunit provides all that. I didn't need it in my 92 because of the higher level stereo had an amp that output sub channels to the woofer portion of the 6x9's, so that was convenient. And I got my remote-on from the power antenna, which you could too, if you have it.
