wheelz
ok i have a question i have really really heavy wheels on my car right this second. they came with the car when i bought it they are really heavy and really ugly. i was wondering how bad that would affect my 1/4 mile time. i was thinking about findin some one to trade the stockers for them or goin to the scrap yard and get some steelies for race days. oh also will a brand new mazda6 wheel fit because they dont look too bad and i might be able to trade mine for them.

Re: wheelz
It's not exact, but might work. 5x114mm/45mm offset vs 5x115mm/40mm offset. It's one of those "hang one on a hub and see how close".TampaSSeI95 wrote:oh also will a brand new mazda6 wheel fit because they dont look too bad and i might be able to trade mine for them.
Putting steel on could be heavier than an aluminum alloy. Sorry I don't have one off the rim at the moment or I could stick a steel rim on a scale for you.
Bye Bye 1990 Bonneville LE... Now it belongs to my daughter

Re: wheelz
pics would help, but yeah a really heavy rim will slow you down compared to a lighter one.... How much it will slow you down I have no clue.

Says what? unless they're 20" or bigger, very wide, and very heavy rubber..TampaSSeI95 wrote:i have no way of getting pics on here but i can tell you the rims and tires have to weight atleast 60lbs a piece. thats just a guess.

Re: wheelz
my stock rims that i had on the car were 48lbs each, WITH tires on them
now thats heavy, if you have 60lb wheels, then they must be huge
the current rims i have, i bought because they are super lightweight, only 27lbs with the tire on each
they look sexi too if i might add
