other issues BESIDES my trans...

Post by Ryno02 »

i'm getting ahead of myself here because i def need to fix my trans first, but it doesn't hurt to research. in order to pass inspection(and because it needs it, obviously), i need to change my front wheel hubs/bearings, my outer tie rod ends, and sway bar endlink(RH side this time). Looking on Rock Auto, they have 4 different brands of hubs. Raybestos, timken, National, and skf. they range from $57(raybestos) to $127(SKF). any feedback on the different brands? i'm prob not gonna have this car another 100k miles, but i dont want something i will be needing to change right away either. on the other stuff, my only question is on the tie rod ends. i've noticed on autozones website that they have outer tie rod ends for vehicles with steering assist. on rock auto, only the inner ones specify that. which is the case?
thank you!

Timken is what I have used, and they've been fine. Price is right at $100.

The outer tie-rods don't matter. They're the same for all 00+.

You should replace both endlinks at the same time. Having one old one and one new one will cause the old one to prematurely break.
Bye Bye:

These hub bearings might be worth looking at. 2 front hub bearings for $80 shipped. I dont know how good they are, but they have a 1 year warranty. The company is also on detroit if that helps anything :).
