Is there any good things that come from taking the honey comb out of the throttle body? Someone said that it would help air intake?

it's proven to be not restrictive up to 450HP or so, and your idle quality will suffer greatly if you do (go ahead and try it, i did. my idle was horrible.)
the screen is there to keep the air flow smooth and constant so the MAF sensor can read the air properly... taking it out reduces the ability of the sensor to do so.

it's not worth it.

When I had a gutted air box I removed the honeycomb and thought the throttle response was a bit better with no poor idle issues.

However when I moved up to the fwi I was getting a bit of stumble without on hard take offs.

Try it for a few days without and decide for yourself.

id agree... go ahead and try it, but IMO it wasn't worth any small gain in response for the rough running.

I had an improvement in acceleration but at great cost to fuel economy. I put it back in and its better overall with it in.

that is the reccomended tool at least.

You can remove it with a ball point pen.

But I suggest you leave it.

how bad would removing it effect gas mileage?

It's restrictive, 450hp or not. I'd love to see the test stating otherwise But if it's worth it, that's another story.

Depends on your right foot, and how the MAF readings are/aren't affected.

Restrictive or not, it's purpose is to make sure the MAF sensor can get an accurate reading. You can flow all you want, but if the sensor is screwy because of disrupted airflow, you'll run like dog meat.

Leave the MAF screen in place.

I tried it and hated the idle. I did not see any real gain in takeoff w/o the sensor. The old girl ran much better after I cleaned the sensor properly, though.
