Yes, that's right, I'm posting an audio question here. What's it to ya?
CD player fried in the Bonne, need something new for when winter rolls around.
Will this guy fit:

Also, it advertises "steering wheel input" how do I get that *shoot* hooked up? I'm lazy, busy, and not googling that *shoot*
Thanks.

No.
It may fit with modification, but is not recommended. Remember this is a Dock n Lock system. No wires come out of dash, it is a male connection to a ribbon. It's best to look at this one.

This is just a radio and looks great. Also, if you want to be safe with your safety features in you Bonnie I HIGHLY recommend this wire harness. PAC C2R-GM32R. Good luck.

Thanks.
I put one similar to that in a couple weeks ago, made the harness myself and it worked perfectly the first time, so much better than the stock one. Especially since the CD player works now
Love Kenwood so much.

A double din install has been done before, and if you're good with fabricating with fiberglass, it's not that bad to do. There's plenty of work space behind the dash. If you decide to do it try to get in contact with randman1. I'm not sure if he's on the forums anymore, but he was the one who did the install

I have tried it. Without modding it does not fit. The DnL male end along with the female causes a space issue. I would love to see the Mod pics.
I wonder if you could mod the unit itself.
- Width 182(mm) 7-3/16(in)
- Height 112mm (4-7/16 in)
- Depth 160mm (6-5/16 in)
I will check this now. I shall be back! I am an audiophile, folks!

I did check this on a 2000 SE and the male DnL connector causes a major problem, UNLESS you can mod the deck or like petraman said. Good Luck. If I am wrong, learn me. I need photo's.

The 92-99 Bonnevilles are Din and 1/2. Also, a double din does fit in the 00s as it's been done many times before... Here's a link to the install kit on ebay:

Thank you. I may have to look into this! I think my next HU will be a DD.

That kit is NOT going to address the primary issue with the installation of DD head units in the 2000+ cars, that being the low depth clearance. The only way you are fixing that is with a dremal tool and some patience.

Has anybody noticed that the op has a 98? All this 2000+ talk is pretty much useless.

The even more useless part is I said I already installed a new one weeks before even the first reply
All good!

So after beating a dead horse, can we establish that you CAN install a DD HU flush with minor modding in a 00+? I really would like to know. Also, I hope that system rocks in your 98!

viper, you made a mess of this topic and posted a lot of false information. Yes the 2000+ uses the dock'n'lock, but only 00-01 use the ribbon cable. However the original poster has a 98, so none of this applies.
