Exhaust smell- please help
Exhaust smell- please help
Could use some help with a problem. My SLE has an obnoxious smell coming out of the exhaust pipes. Smells like something burned on your stove. Exhaust shop looked at it and said not CAT, nothing stuck under car or anything. Smell starts after about 5min after warm up every time. This has been going on for 3 months. No fault codes come up. Never had exhaust work done to it, car has 45k miles on it.

Mice stockpiled dog food in the SSE's exhaust a while back. It still kinda smells every time I drive it.

That's actually quite common. Some people plug their exhaust pipes during storage to prevent this.
Foul smell can also be caused by the Cat.
