buzzing noise coming from the rear of the car

ever since ive had my car i have noticed a buzzing sound coming from the rear of the car at times. Usually it only lasts a few seconds and doesnt seem to affect anything else. at first i thought it was the antenna til i looked and saw there was none lol. but i was just wondering if anyone else has that issue or maybe know what it may be?

Is it the rear load leveling compressor running? Is it frequent? More often when there's additional weight in the back?

most of the time im riding by myself but i have subwoofers in the trunk. it happens usually about 2-3 minutes after the car has been running and it happens sparatically. i recall hearing most often when im sitting at a stoplight or stop sign or if the car is just sitting.

If I remember right, all 00+ had rear load leveling, and the compressor is hiding behind the passenger rear tire. Heavy stereo equipment and possibly leaky air struts could make the air pump/compressor run fairly freqently. Try turning the car on, popping the trunk open, and sitting on the back end. See if it makes the same noise after a few minutes.

IIRC the pump should come on for a couple seconds after the car has been running for about 15 seconds, it does this as a test.
