The light on my radio display has given up so I have to pull the radio to replace it.
Could someone give me some pointers on pulling the radio? Where to start. What all needs to come off, etc

Re: '99 SSEi Radio Removal
It's really easy. Start by taking off the panel with the vents with your fingers, its just held on by clips. Its easier if you start at the left and work your way to the right. You might need to tilt the steering column for some clearance. Then the radio has 4 phillips screws (they are 7 mm also) holding it in. It should just slide out and then unplug the harness on the back. If the gear shift is in the way, set the parking brake and move the shifter back far enough to get the radio out.

the black plastic piece that surrounds the radio and climate control pops off. start at the top and work your way down. yes, it goes all the way over to the light switch. when that is off , just 4 - 7mm screws to remove and pull radio.
