CCFL lamps?

Discuss washing, waxing and detailing information as well as interior/exterior cosmetic modifications. This includes neons, body, cosmetic wheels, etc. Even under the hood detailing.

CCFL lamps?

Post by ptrfair »

Hey everyone,

I know i've been MIA lately, college is keeping me more than busy. Business Law classes..woohoo.

Anyway, Im trying to find a brighter low-beam lamp for my Impala. Sylvania doesnt make a silverstar or even a step above stock lamp for the H9 and H11 bulbs...
I found these.... http://articles.dashzracing.com/06-08-c ... o-de-leon/

They're a CCFL halo ring (which i guess is ok), But what i'm after is a projector for a more direct beam of light on the road.
My questions:
1. Would having a projector low beam and the stock bulb be brighter at night?
2. These come equipped with the H3 bulb, since they are avaliable in the silverstars, wouldnt that make for an even whiter light?

Or is this just a huge waste of $$, im not going to see a difference in lighting, and i should just wait for Sylvania to make a silverstar H11 bulb.

thanks and happy Labor day.

I think It's up to you. The projectors will make better use of the light, and I'd see what they look like with just the stock bulbs in them. Silverstars are overrated, and burn out really quickly. You'd probably be better off getting HID's.
Bye Bye:

Yeah its a tough decision. Thats pretty much a months car payment right there. I was driving home tonight and its like "I can deal with this for now". Im going to look for HID projectors. That, that would be worth the upgrade.

Thank you for your input
