Is that common? How do you fix that?
How about has anyone taken out the 12 disc changer and installed and ipod?

There has been tons of posts about ipods. a simple scrolling down the audio page would have gotten you the solution you want, along with the search function.

Get in there with a qtip moist with rubbing alchohol and clean the lens.

I had this happen intermittently. Once it would start to skip, it would be a problem until I power cycled my car. After shutting it down and restarting it was fine again for a few days. I suspect in my case it wasn't a dirty lens because restarting the car would always fix it. GM replaced my CDX under warranty. No problems since.
