This one has to be a strong contender:

It says that the transmission had no problem besides maitenance. What are the odds of a trans lasting that long? :???:

Probably pretty good if it's just a DD that's not pounded on.

My old 99 SE had 173K on it when I sold it two years ago. I just saw the new owner about six weeks ago and it now has 195K on it and he said it's doing very well.

My trans is new, only because the car was a leased vehicle, and it was more than likely beat on with no maintenance. The fluid was gray when I got it. Never a good sign. It lasted another 5k, and gave up the ghost.

He sounds like someone that takes very good care of his car(s). Probably changes the crankcase (dino) oil every month and the transmission every year. Good odds, I'd say.

Don't beat on the trans, change the fluids and filter every year, and the thing will last for a good long while. Without a cooler, without an auxiliary filter like a Magnefine. Both of those do help.

Not to mention that 200 miles a day means a lot of highway driving I think. Locked up in OD? Don't see why not!

I replaced my y2k SSEi's transmission at 96k mile. My 96 SSE has 198k miles and is almost ready to give up the ghost. When it goes I'm gonna leave it on the side of the road and take the tags.

157,000 on my 00 SE and the tranny occasionally seems like its on its last legs, but lucas tranny fix seems to work for 30,000 at a crack.

But 400000 miles is awesome

Not sure its original miles, but the 95SE I bought a couple months back with LIM failure shows 257k on the odo. Fixed leak and it runs good.

It was dirty enough to be original.

I bought a 98 Olds 88 with 220,000 that just had the original engine change as it was knocking. As far as I know still has the original trans.
