00 GP GT roaring sound

00 GP GT roaring sound

Ok yall, im at a loss, I have spent all day fixing this car, last wednesday my front end started making this loud roaring sound, the tires are new and were put on a few months ago and i have never had this sound. SO far, I have changed my wheel bearings, and the drive axle on the passenger side, which is where the sound sounds like it is coming from, please help, i am running out of money to fix this and need it fixed by wednesday please help

Is the noise related to tire speed?

no it happens at anything above 25 miles per hour and stays the same until you stop again

Hmmm, strange. Have you noticed if the noise starts when the transmission shifts into a certain gear?

That's a classic symptom for a bad wheel hub (bearing). Did you change both, or just the passenger side? It can be hard to tell which side the noise comes from.

i changed both sides. im at a loss i did however use used bearings because I just cannot afford new ones

That may be the issue. I too have put used wheel bearings on my car before as I couldn't afford a new one. I was lucky and the used one was good. Sometimes you don't get that lucky though.

Was there any warranty on the bearings, (if they are bad, bring them back) or anything like that? I would look into that.

How loud is the noise?

it sounds like i have mud grips on the front of my car, what im gonna do, is because I feel that the driver side was good to begin with, im going to take off the passenger side one and put the old driver side one on in its place, its been really hard since i lost my job, and just got this new one, but im driving 100 miles each way to work everyday. Thanks again for everyones help, im sorry I havent been on here in a while, it just feels good to be back, and i plan on stickingaround for a while to come!

great news, i swapped the original one that was on the driver side to the passenger side and poof noise went away, tomorrow im going for a front end alignment! Thanks to all who helped me fix this problem!!!!!!!!! :beerchug:
