Re: How many miles do u have on your cars?
My 95 Bonneville base model has just over 239k on it today. I bought it from a friend in Feb. 2011. Excellent running car and always gets 24 to 28 mpg depending on trip/road conditions. Its a 100 mile round trip on a normal workday.
Last weekend the harmonic balancer came separated from the outer pulley and created quite a clatter until I figured out what it was and installed a new one last night. The night before I put on a new waterpump thinking that was the source of the noise. Night before that I went to the pullapart and got 3 alternators, which was not the problem but its good to have some extras I guess. I ran one of them for a couple days that appears to be a fairly fresh remanufactured unit. That was $26 well spent!
Earlier this summer on my way home from work I made a full throttle pass of three cars and about a mile later I lost power to one of the ignition coils. Turned out to be the ignition module. Ordered a new AC delco one from some place on ebay, complete with 3 new coils. A month later the same position coil died again after passing someone on the way home. Ignition module at fault again! Grabbed some decent looking modules at the pullapart again been running one of them since with no issues. This time I put a good layer of dielectric grease between the module and mounting bracket, as the failed module seemed way hotter than it should have been. Also put new plugs/wires on that time. Been through a couple fuel pumps too.
A word regarding lifetime warranty parts: They must expect it to fail prematurely and are more than willing to give you another one or two if you buy from them the first time, lol

Just hit 241k not to long ago on the 97. Still chugging, But having some continuing electrical gremlins I can't figure out and other wear and tear items I'm running behind on. :(
